Inspiration
Elon Musk just bought Twitter. So we need an alternative in case that platform burns. I propose building it on top of the Lens Protocol, so that a future platform will no longer be bound by one centralized company.
What it does
Using Lens Protocol, this web UI posts with Metamask a small text that will live on the user's profile NFT in the Ethereum Network.
How we built it
We used Lens Protocol's Primer to setup test contracts inside Hardhat, against which we created the Profile NFT. Later we used NextJS to create a small Web UI where the user can post texts, and which connects to Hardhat and the Lens Contracts via EthersJS
Challenges we ran into
- Unfamiliarity with Lens Protocol before starting this project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Being able to create the Typescript React Application in around 3 hours.
- Being able to easily sign transactions with Metamask against Hardhat.
What we learned
- The easiest protocols to onboard developers are the ones that do not require solidity to work.
What's next for Splatter
Being able to follow other users (functionality that already exists on Lens Protocol)
Built With
- hardhat
- lensprotocol
- metamask
- nextjs
- react
- typescript
