Inspiration
When we were kids during elementary school we constantly struggled and found ourselves disenchanted by the the one-size-fits-all approach approach found in a traditional academic setting. We often experienced moments of boredom as visual learners, and there were occasions when we found it challenging to grasp concepts solely by reading from a textbook.
What it does
Splash Scholar is an K-5 early education app that makes learning engaging and personalized. By using AI, it tailors content to each child's unique learning style, optimizing their educational experience. We make learning fun by:
- Using simple designs accessible to anyone
- Bright and colorful design intended to keep students engaged
- Cute “schools” of fish theme
- Interactive Shop/AI system
- Gamification alongside learning
- Personalized learning styles catered to the child
How we built it
We built the app prototype using Figma.
Challenges we ran into
Figuring out what information we needed to include on the screens and in what format and positioning.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're really proud of being able to create a visually appealing app that showcases our idea and has set a solid foundation to build the app. Learning Figma and coding together was a fun experience!
What we learned
How to use Figma to prototype and build wireframes
What's next for Splash Scholars
We'd love to start coding this in Swift and building a beta version of the app.
