Spiritual Thriller Video: Karmic Debt of Murder

Inspiration

It poses a profound question: Even if individuals evade capture, can they truly escape the consequences of committing a horrific crime? The afterlife is a concept familiar to many, but how would it function within the mystical hierarchy of karmic systems we often hear about—an eternal cycle of reincarnation designed to refine our souls?

What it does

This story reveals a profound truth: causing harm to others for personal gain is a short-sighted pursuit. Once you understand how karma operates—its eternal nature and the devastating price one must pay—it becomes clear that earthly satisfaction can lead to catastrophic consequences in the afterlife.

How we built it

This story is brief yet profound, illustrating how greed can blind people to the point of justifying murder—and why such tragedies occur. It also reveals that even at a terrible cost, opportunities for redemption and growth remain. The female protagonist, her soul tainted by darkness, is denied reunion with her baby in the heavenly realm. Yet through suffering and self-awareness, she may still earn the chance to purify her soul and one day reunite with her loved ones.

Challenges we ran into

Challenge No.1: There were a lot of challenges for me. Mainly BUDGET. I had very limited budget and I was lucky to be able to take opportunity of short term free video credits on some programs. Without it, this project would never have been possible.

Challenge No.2: Many AI videos generated didn't reflect the prompts :(.

Challenge No.3: Needed to settle for low resolution small screen videos due to budget constraints. But still were able to produce decent quality videos for youtube at 16:9.

Challenge No.4: Learning to produce video at a high quality and at a right aspect ratio. I needed to resubmit the video because I found out a way to improve my video quality. It took me 2 days to figure it out. Main problem was the pixel ratio. I needed to set it to SQUARE and export without compressing it first to preserve quality.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I think it is quite decent given all the hurdles and challenges I faced. The expressions of the characters seem to match their words and they look very authentic. Better than some bad human actors XD. I am very thankful for the AI tools such as OpenArt.ai, ElevenLabs and Seedance for helping me create my vision a reality.

What we learned

I learned a lot about how to use AI Image and Video tools for maximizing the use of my limited points.
