This project is a community based alert system. It's a web app, that can allow users to form groups and send event based alerts. IT can also be linked with IOT stuff for sensor based notifications.
Inspiration: Wanting alerts for unwanted people entering the residential buildings. This project is based on theme better together. It is a community based alert system where people rely on each other and support each other.
What it does: It allows users to send alerts to everyone in a group. Users can also automate alerts using IOT devices with sensors.
How we built it: We used React for frontend development, Firebase cloud messaging for the alert system, Firebase Admin SDK for using firebase cloud messaging, and Node js for backend.
Challenges we ran into: Learning A LOT of new technologies and making them work together.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: We got a working login connected with a database, this was one of the most difficult parts of our project.
What we learned: We picked up a lot of new skills. For most of us this is our first close to completion team project. We are learning about different roles in a team and parallel development.
What's next for Spidey Sense: We plan to finish this project and actually publish it. This is a great idea and we plan to use it ourselves. (Probable use case: Warning friends that an RA is entering the building so stop the party and mask up. (JK pls don't do that)).
