Waiting in line for theme park rides has traditionally been a passive experience, in spite of the fact that the majority of a guest's time can be spent there. Spiderman Snapshot is an idea for a multi-station interactive experience where guests use their hands to interact with the Spiderman world while they wait in line.

With Spiderman Snapshot, we wanted to design something that people could walk right up to and start playing with little or no instruction, and for as little or as long as they liked. We utilized a natural user interface to invite people of all ages and backgrounds to step into the Spiderman universe and share an experience with each other capturing pictures of villains for the front page of the Daily Bugle.

In the experience, guests make a picture framing pose using their hands. When showing this pose, guests have three seconds to frame their shot before a picture is taken. The goal of the experience is to capture the nefarious acts of villains on the loose as they dash across the city's landscape.

Spiderman Snapshot is designed to be one of multiple experience stations set up through out the queue for the Spiderman ride at Universal's Islands of Adventure. Our goal when designing the application was to create something that could be used by anyone and could fit into existing models of queues and rides today.
