SpiderBot

Inspiration

We were inspired by the need to keep people safe when in uncertain conditions.

What it does

It measures temperature and distance, and then sends it to an app so that the user can know what conditions are like before going there in person.

How we built it

We found a spider bot kit online using a Raspberry Pi and then used that as the base for our project. We added all the sensors and powered them through an Arduino Uno.

Challenges we ran into

We downloaded the wrong OS and couldn't get the software to work at all.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to get all the sensors working and sending information through UART to a phone.

What we learned

We learned about the importance of checking software versions. We also learned a lot about the mechanical side of the project!

What's next for SpiderBot

We want to be able to control it from the phone as well instead of from the laptop.
