SpendSmart

Inspiration

The inspiration for the application came from a thought about time going by too fast and that I would be an adult soon. That made me realize that I would have to find a job to make money. With that in mind, that helped me finalize my decision on making an application to help with budgeting and financial decision making.

What it does

My application allows users to see their total monthly earnings by inputting their monthly income and expenses. This can help them make better financial decisions in the future.

How we built it

It was coded in python and additional images were created on Canva

Challenges we ran into

A challenge I ran into while creating this project was deciding and coding where my frames would be placed. I wanted my widgets to be placed in a specific format, but when I tried to code it, the outcome wasn't what I wanted. Eventually, I figured out a method that would allow me to have a similar format to my initial idea.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of the way it turned out, specifically the calculator portion of my code. The reason is it took me a while to code my initial idea due to the challenges I ran into. However, with the little changes I made, the outcome turned out to be similar to what I visualized

What we learned

I learned a lot about tkinter and the widgets.
