Inspiration

Inspiration struck when I noticed the rapid growth of the "quick spend" industry. Every banner seems to advertise marketplaces, and every corner has a coffee shop. The sheer number of small purchases can lead to devastating consequences and even become addictive for many. Spendsei will help people change their spending habits natively.

How we built it

It was immediately clear that the solution for this would be AI, and for this I turned to Gemini, who handles all issues related to this. For development, I used the trio of Bolt, Cursor, and ChatGPT.

Challenges we ran into

Difficulties arose at every step, as I had not had such experience before and had to go through each step for the first time. In addition, I didn't even use Git at first and the first versions were simply destroyed by AI. 4 hours before the deadline, my entire app crashed when I tried to deploy a new feature. The last git push was yesterday. Now there are 2 hours left, and if you're reading this, I've managed to simultaneously update the app, write this text, think how to record demo video, and deploy the publicity version.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

AI is poorly integrated into people's everyday lives, and perhaps the main thing I'm proud of is that people can interact with it in their daily tasks now to get personalized feedback.

What we learned

I learned to communicate effectively with AI for better contextual accuracy by applying best practices from prompt engineering. It was particularly interesting to work with a database where every step initially returned an error, but after many hours, it finally worked.

What's next for Spendsei

I see Spendsei promising and it will definitely see listing on AppStore, new features, and active use by users in their lives.
