Inspiration
I got introduced to SM64 speed running by Clint Stevens, Simply, and Mizkif. I found it very entertaining and I wanted to give speed running a shot until I came across a problem. I could't find a website for my time splitting that fit my needs and desires.
What it does
It is a time tool for speedrunners that is easy and simple to use.
How I built it
I built this website with simple HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
Challenges I ran into
Challenges I ran into would include trying to make the site more user friendly and better looking.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I'm proud that I was able to deliver a product that is usable and that I will be able to use in the future for my speed runs. I liked how I was able to turn my passion for watching streamers play SM64 into a useful product for others to use.
What I learned
I learned more about formatting in the front end and more javascript
What's next for speedStevens
The next thing that can be added to speedStevens would be saved files to keep track of your splits and more customization for users to login and log out.
