Inspiration
The NeoPixel LED Ring caught our eye and we wanted to make something cool with it.
What it does
Randomly displays a group of three LEDs on the NeoPixel Ring. The user must move the analog stick connected to the Arduino to control a pixel of their own on the ring. If the user is able to hit the group of LEDs with their own pixel within the limited timeframe, they earn a point for that level. There are multiple "attacks" per level and five levels that become increasingly faster as the game progresses.
How we built it
Developed on an Arduino Uno with an Analog Joystick and NeoPixel Ring with the assistance of the Adafruit NeoPixel Library at https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_NeoPixel
Challenges we ran into
Since the hardware was borrowed, we were unable to solder wires onto them, causing some loose connections. However, our device still ran smoothly.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Tracking the analog stick on the LED ring and finishing the project on time
What we learned
Prior to this hackathon, we were very unexperienced with Arduino. Now we feel much more confident with the environment
What's next for SpeedCircle
More speed.
