Inspiration
We noticed that the way most people speak had grammatical errors in it, so we decided to develop a program that points out those flaws.
What it does
The program detects audio from a file and suggests grammatical and spelling changes.
How we built it
We built it using the AssemblyAI and Language-Tool-Python library in python.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we encountered, included figuring out how to upload an audio file to the AssemblyAI server, solving the problem of how to integrate Language-Tool-Python with AssemblyAI, and settling on this idea.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Some accomplishments that we are proud of is working with tools that we have not worked with before, such as API's and python. This event was also our first hackathon, so completing it is a major accomplishment for all of us.

What's next for Speech Improvement Tool
The next steps for the Speech Improvement Tool include having it suggest vocabulary changes to make the text seem more formal.
