Inspiration

We all started off bad at speaking and still have room to improve

What it does

Listens to you and provides real time feedback on what you did wrong and ways to improve. It tracks your words per minute, voice volume, filler words

How we built it

Python and making api calls to gemini for backend. Chrome extension to interact with it. Speech to text to get a transcription to sent to gemini.

Challenges we ran into

Not being able to make the app. The speech to text isn't perfect.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Completing the chrome extension in a short amount of time and having a working solution.

What we learned

We learned how to work effectively as a team and how to create extensions as well as critical thinking.

What's next for Speech Coach

Perfecting it and using a better speech to text. Also having different modes for different types of speaking (speech, story telling, meeting, etc). Making this a built in feature for some apps. Having a points/XP system that shows how much you're improving.
