Inspiration
What better way is there to have an adventure without your friends? People assume that the only way to do something adventurous is by doing something extravagant, such as traveling to new countries. However, it’s the people surrounding you that make the adventures more fulfilling. With this in mind, we created an app called SPECTO, where a small circle of friends can stay connected and plan adventures together.
What it does
SPECTO lets you see the upcoming events near your location curated based off your interests and friends, allowing a small groups of people to plan hangouts. In addition to this, we wanted there to be a way for people to remember the things they've done. With this ideology, a SPECTOs page was created in an effort to create a community on the platform where people could upload pictures from events and share them with friends.
How we built it
We utilized Figma to help design the UI/UX wireframes.
Challenges we ran into
We did not have enough time to plan and do a detailed wireframe on Figma. Additionally, we had not delved deep enough into Figma before this hackathon so the learning curve was larger.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Something that we are both proud of is the idea that came about from this hackathon. In addition to this, diving deeper into Figma allowed us to understant UI/UX fundamental design principles. Lastly, we are most proud of designing the SPECTOs page with the current UI wireframes.
What we learned
We learned how to prototype with Figma, which neither of us had experience with.
What's next for SPECTO
We want to take the wireframes that we created and make it into an actual full-functioning backend and frontend mobile app. Ultimately, we would want to upscale this project and potentially unlock it to new users over time.
