Inspiration
There are more than 300 million color-blind people. This is a large percentage of our population. Many of these people are excluded from mainstream society. We have tried our best to create an app that helps these people, enabling them to integrate into mainstream society.
What it does
Our app has data matrices for different types of color blindness. The app turns up the color hue for the color that is less visible to the user. So for example, if the person suffers from red-green color blindness, the red and green hues of objects seen in the camera are turned up making the color more recognizable.
How we built it
We used Flutter and Dart for the creation of the website. And the explanatory website: link was created using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap
Challenges we ran into
We had issues coming up with accurate color matrices, but we ended up finding some matrices that we were able to use.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to create a full-fledged app that can help millions of people in their daily lives. We're really happy that we can make an impact on people's lives.
What we learned
We learned many programming skills, apart from that, we learned how to work together as a team and manage time.
What's next for SpectaColr
We will try to update our website, mostly aesthetic changes, and then we'll try posting our app to the Apple App Store and the Google PlayStore.
