To offer professional, benevolent and online business support to EU Micro SMEs. Specialist-Wanted gives Micro SMEs the adapted online and on-demand skills to sustain, grow and improve their business, while allowing hundreds of thousands of professional & benevolent people to get a decent living working from home.

What it does

Specialist-Wanted is an online business tool that allows Micro SMEs and SMEs to increase their revenue by freeing some administrative time, thanks to affordable and adapted professional support in various domains such as marketing, sales HR, finance, administrative tasks…Anything that can be done online. This support is provided by independent and self-employed specialists through a complete solution encompassing a visio conference tool, a shared agenda, a meeting planner, a chat, a document sharing facility and a fully automated invoicing and payment system.

The process is unfolds entirely online, so Covid-19 social distancing is respected. However, thanks to the visio access, human interactions remain.

How we built it

Specialist-Wanted is based on Wordpress/Woocommerce/Dokan/Cometchat/Paypal/Mailchimp/ and several other add’ons. The system works well in France and is very effective ! Nevertheless, we still have a long way to go to improve it further. Thanks to discussions and advices during this weekend, we clarified and discussed lots of topics such as the Automation of processes / localization of some legal labor law specifics / Inclusion of AI and Machine learning.

Challenges we ran into and tackled during this Hackhaton

Automation of processes, notably Dokan&Paypal, and invoicing automation is quite the challenge! AI/Machine learning to help the categorization of the service, gain Marketing expertise to adapt to the EU's needs, have an UI / UX expert outlook, understand more on EU local labor law for the independent workers' invoicing capabilities…

Accomplishments we are proud of

We won local recognition in our city, Montpellier, in France. Our MVP works for France and this hackhaton weekend has confirmed that we can definitely help out Micro SMEs all across the EU !

What we learned

Try things with an open-minded attitude, interact with people and put your assumptions to the reality test ! A/B testing and constant iteration is the key to success !

What's next for Specialist-Wanted

Transform our local #techforgood and #smallbusinesstech project into a EU-wide business support provider. Our business model is based on free registration to the system for both the Specialists and the Micro SMEs and a 1EUR+ 15% Fee on each transaction occuring. We run the numbers and the business plan is solid and sustainable. The Covid-19 crisis is an opportunity to rethink the #futureofwork for independent workers and Micro-SME’s. With EU's help, we can replicate the model in a few months' time. We need IT experts to further automate our processes and ensure that the local specifics are met, 2 people per new country to ensure the services are operated and promoted properly, and a budget to promote the solution. Specialist-Wanted’s mission is to supply super powers to the EU's fantastic entrepreneurs to fight C-19 and beyond !!!
