In order to facilitate communication, we are using a Leap Motion Device which captures two kinds of data, American Sign Language and Morse Code which can be captured by finger movements. Both projects can connect to the internet via web services and the data can be uploaded. The data in turn can be seen on screen the Oculus Rift, which gives a HUD flavor to the communication.
The inspiration of the project was from the fact that, people while are not able to speak and depend heavily on sign language need an interpreter too as people generally do not tend to understand them, therefore we use the Leap Motion Technology in order to interpret their signs and possibly even render the voice as well for communication.
