Inspiration

My wife and friend shared an experience that resonated deeply with me - they were struggling to speak confidently in meetings and public presentations when conversing in English. A year ago, I felt exactly the same way. I took numerous courses and practiced extensively with human instructors, which helped significantly. But what if there was an AI assistant that could be in your pocket during business settings? What if you could get instant, personalized feedback anytime you needed it? This is why I'm passionate about creating Speak Smart AI. I want to improve the confidence of professionals who are struggling to express their thoughts and ideas through strong business English. Having experienced this challenge personally, I understand the frustration of having brilliant ideas but lacking the confidence to communicate them effectively in professional settings.

What it does

Our AI-powered solution democratizes access to personalized English coaching, making it available 24/7 for anyone who wants to unlock their full potential in the workplace.

How we built it

Through Bolt. The app has a landing page with basic sign up/login option explaining the value proposition. Once signed up, You will be directed to the welcome screen which has dashboard, Assessment screen & practise sessions.

The 1 minute assessment lets you record your speech, and the AI instantly summarises and rates your speech. The practise session has multiple sessions in which you are given the scenario to practise , record and have instant AI assessment.

I used Eleven labs Voice Assistant for Speech to text and Anthropic API mopel for AI feedback analysis on the English level assessment.

Challenges we ran into

Integrating eleven labs and AI analysis result not displayed as expected, but I fine-tuned the logic and the model eventually picked up and rated accordingly

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I had this idea in my mind for 7 days, but it took a day to build an excellent world class App without any coding knowledge

What we learned

I learned more about voice assistants, API and how to build with proper prompting techniques

What's next for Speak Smart

Planning to launch it in early access list and get initial feedback from customer and eventually improve upon the adoption of the product
