Background : Asian carps are invasive species in Great lakes and threatening the other fresh water species. The Great Lakes are unique freshwater systems and a multi-billion dollar fishing industry. Ecological consequences could be high, if Asian carps invade.

What we will get :The application system will provide the probable spawning status of different species of Asian carp(any species) around the great lakes by using the real time environmental database.

How we build it : We use the android studio to build the app platform, Matlab codes to use the real time data automatically to show the status of spawning conditions.

The challenges were : The real challenges were to implement live database in the Android project and coordinate with Google map to show the fish spawning status.

Accomplishments : We are really proud of the learning and achievement. It was a great team effort, brain storming and decision making that we did all together.

What's next for SPAWNSPOT : To develop for other species with the consideration of other environmental parameters.
