Inspiration: The inspiration came from the ability to use XR in a new and exciting way. VR allows us to experience gaming in 1:1 scale. XR should be the same, but within the real world, like a full size stadium.

What it does: Spatial Soccer is a controller based XR experience that allows you to immerse yourself in the fusion of physical and virtual as your real-world space is transformed into a dynamic and scalable soccer field, where you can play against various AI teams and difficulties.

How we built it: The experience was built in Unity and tested with the Quest3.

Challenges we ran into: VR specific problems that are still occurring and making our AI behave poorly. In Unity's gameview window and app sim, the AI plays great. Once built the AI reverts to something resembling the 1st iteration. It is slowly getting better, but its been an extremely weird issue.

Accomplishments that we're proud of: Once in app, being able to move, place, and scale the field. You can do it with hands and controllers and was the premise for a 1:1 soccer game that can be played

"anywhere". While we think it came out great, it took too much of our time.

What we learned: All problems can be solved with time.

What's next for Spatial Soccer: So much! Way better AI, multiplayer, controller mapping, optimizations.
