Inspiration
We realized that students at MSU have always faced the challenge of finding a place to study and people to study with. These tasks take time and effort, and we wanted to make this process easier for MSU students through our web app.
What it does
Our app lets students know which study rooms are available within MSU at the Law Library, The Business College Library, and The MSU Library. Once a student finds a room, they can book it for a requested time based on their project.
How we built it
We built the frontend with the help of React.js and used VsCode and Github to centralize our work.
Challenges we ran into
We encountered many challenges during this program, especially with files sometimes breaking, causing us to start over or move back a significant amount. Thankfully, we kept backups that helped us in the long run. We also had problems with the naming of our project, but we ultimately decided on Spartan Study Buddies.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we were able to get our app functioning to at least a presentable degree, and we are happy to have come up with this idea.
What we learned
We learned how to use JavaScript, React.js, and HTML to create a website.
What's next for Spartan Study Buddies
We hope to get our project off the ground, and we are excited about the possibility of MSU taking an interest in making this project a reality to improve the lives of current and future students.
