Inspiration
Our inspiration for this project was to combine social media and organisation so you can share what you love with like-minded people!
What it does
It is a platform for music creators to upload their previous and on-going projects to organise and share what they have created.
How we built it
By implementing a Firebase authentication system and database users are able to login, create, and manage an account through our platform. Once logged in they will be able to upload and view their own projects as well as viewing other creator's projects.
Challenges we ran into
In the original project we planned to implement a MongoDB database with Clerk authentication, but we ran into major issues with getting clerk to work within the project as well as communicate with the local database. This was later scrapped for a full Firebase system. Additionally, being our first hackathon, figuring out time management has been a challenge our team has faced - causing time wastage and project fallbacks. We overcame these challenges to produce a presentable MVP.
What we learned
Over the course of this hackathon both members of the team have pushed their respected development knowledge and innovated our ideas into a fully fledged website.
What's next for Sparks
We have many stretch goals for Sparks, the project has been really fun to develop over the last 24 hours. The features we have planned next include comments on users songs, implementing a playlist system, and having more user based interactivity such as account levels and a following system.
