Inspiration

I have been always curious about the universe and geography had been my favorite subject at school- learning about various landforms, about space, various planets and satellites and constellations has always been fun! So, while I got this opportunity to share what I learnt and to share my curiosity to learn more about the subject, how could I ever let it in vain?

What it does

Well, I have built a simple application that displays several sections to the user and the user has the choice to chose from them. As soon as the user clicks on a button, he/ she is displayed the content inside, for example, if the user chooses to start with glossary, then several space- related words show up! One of the key features of this app is that it starts from very basic! The user does not need to have a prior knowledge of the subject to start learning on the app!

How we built it

I used python for building this app- at first, I thought of the various sections that I wanted the app to have- next, I thought of the GUI and decided to have a GUI will similar feel but I wanted to have a different GUI for each section- so, I wrote a common function for the GUI and as for the various sections, I made different functions for each one of them!

Challenges we ran into

Making a common GUI creator function for every section was definitely a challenge I had to face and then controlling which function should run when a particular button is clicked was a small challenge. The challenge I faced was that since I was working alone on this project, I had to manage it all alone!

I am proud of building my first project alone!

What we learned

Well, I am grateful for this learning opportunity because it helped me overcome the fear of working on projects alone and helped me have a strong command of tkinter, the python library used to create the GUI of the project! One more thing I learnt was how to display a part of the text in bold.

What's next for Spaceadhyan

There is lot left to improve on- the quiz I have built for this app is a simple one- it only contains a few questions- I can have a user login page, SQL integration to store the user's progress and quiz grades, have quiz after every module/ section and can have three levels of overall quiz- one of the sections that be added in this mini app includes space related news! I swear to work on it to improve it in all means I can.
