Inspiration
We recently read a book in our Automata class called, Time Traveller: One Man's Mission To Make Time Travel A Reality by Ronald Mallett. The book dealt with light and space travel which ignited our curiosity on these subjects.
What it does
Performs conversions to determine the distance between two celestial bodies in light-years, and determines the time it would take to travel between the two bodies at the speed of light.
How we built it
We built this application using a variety of tools. We used Dart and the framework Flutter to create our native mobile application. Along with Auth0 to authenticate and log in the users. Along with Vscode for our text editor of choice, and Android Studio for the emulation of the mobile device.
Challenges we ran into
- Figuring out how to integrate Auth0's API into our Flutter application.
- Basic challenges that come with having minimum experience with the Flutter framework and mobile development.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Creating a working product in a small timeframe.
What we learned
- Integrating Auth0 into a Flutter application.
- Conversions to determine the distance between two celestial bodies in light-years
- Conversions to determine the time it would take to travel between two bodies in light-years.
What's next for Space Travel
- Adding a screen that provides the user with a variety of solutions to space-related problems.
Built With
- android-studio
- auth0
- dart
- flutter
- vscode
