💡 Inspiration We often look up at the stars with awe, but what if we could travel back in time and see what NASA was capturing on any given day? That simple idea — blending space exploration with personal nostalgia — sparked the creation of Space Memories (Astro_Memory). Whether it's your birthday, a historical day, or just a random moment, the universe had something beautiful to show. This project transforms static space data into personalized cosmic moments, bringing people closer to the stars.
🚀 What It Does Space Memories is a web-based application that allows users to:
Enter any date (from 1995 onward)
Instantly fetch NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day for that date
View the image, title, and a detailed explanation by real NASA astronomers
Discover the universe’s beauty while tying it to personal life events
It essentially creates an emotional and educational bridge between your life and the cosmos.
🛠 How We Built It Frontend: Developed using clean HTML, CSS, and Vanilla JavaScript
API Integration: Connected with the NASA APOD API using a free key to retrieve data dynamically
User Interface: Designed a responsive, minimal UI with smooth date selection and light/dark mode for accessibility
Animations & Styling: CSS transitions and media queries for mobile-friendliness
No backend or database was required — it’s a lightweight, frontend-only solution that runs in any browser.
