Inspiration

After watching Space Jam 1 and 2, we decided to pay homage to these classic movies by creating our very own Space Jam Battle game.

What it does

Space Jam Battle is a single-player game where the user can pick between Michael Jordan and Lebron James and eliminate all enemies and obtain the keys in several unique maps.

How we built it

The team built the game using python and the arcade library.

Challenges we ran into

Our biggest challenge was handling merge conflicts. Due to our inexperience working with others remotely on programming projects, we had our first experience of handling merge conflicts which was very tedious. To overcome this challenge, we delegated our tasks by file and informed each other in advance with we need to push/pull a commit in advance.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

While we did not get very far as we hoped in our project, we're very happy with the progress and experience we gained from programming our very first game on python.

What we learned

We learned how to apply Linux and Git to create a repository from the terminal and implement version control practices from the terminal.

What's next for Space Jam Battle

As Space Jam Battle will continue to be developed, we will be introducing more interactive features in the game that would make the game challenging and fun. These include new maps, enemies that can attack/heal, and a more pleasant user interface where users can choose maps and difficulties. We also plan to introduce different game modes such as a timed survival mode where enemies will spawn in randomly and constantly.
