Space Geese 2: Electric Boogaloo is an AstonHack 6 project reimagining the iconic Space Invaders with the help of our AI overlords and smart geese.

When running the game wait a few seconds on the loading screen while the smart geese do some web scraping to build the memetastic poems.

I worked on NLP processing and game logic development.
It was my first time working with BeautifulSoup, NLTK, and other Python NLP/web-scraping libraries, but I have managed to create a grammar-following poem generator in the end.

Worked on game rendering pipeline and logic as well as online multiplayer synchronisation. Real time player synchronisation was truly an unknown territory but we managed to implement it in the end. Additionally, learned a lot more about NLP and the back-end server scripts.

Although I do have some experience using Photoshop, this time, I used Affinity Designer. It is quite easy to draw on paper but it was a challenge to make the art for the game using Designer since everything has to be made using shapes not free drawn (also, I have never even drawn a spaceship or a goose before).
Seeing my teammates write the code and going through it also adds up to my coding experience and will benefit me in the future.
