Inspiration
Space is all about mysteries and exploring mysteries is something exciting, hence I chose to make a website dedicated to the planets in our solar system and showed up some fun and unbelievable facts. Seeing the far corners of the galaxy is a pipe dream for most people, leaving hobbyists to learn and explore down here on Earth. Being a space lover I always wanted one of my projects to be related to space and the universe and show how diverse it can be by spelling it's magical spells. Space is amazing. The sheer vastness of it, along with the trillions upon trillions of objects in the many billion galaxies of the universe is almost incomprehensible to the human brain. There is no atmosphere in space, which means that sound has no medium or way to travel to be heard. Astronauts use radios to stay in communication while in space, since radio waves can still be sent and received.I think this much information is enough for anyone to know how much I love space and why it inspires me
What it does
The Space explorer website shows facts about different planets, some are fun facts but at the same time some of them are amazing and mesmerizing. It takes people to an unexplored system on the universe. The people who visit each planet on the website get amazing names made for every planet and can pick any favourite planet of theirs.
How we built it
In this project I used basic HTML and CSS framework for making the frontend and used VS Code as my code editor, I then deployed it on github through git actions. With the help of github I then deployed my project on Microsoft azure cloud by creating a resource group to store all the data and created a web app named space explorers by using azure app services and linked my github repository with the resource group through deployment center, for images and facts I took help of google.
Challenges we ran into
As a beginner every step that I did in this project was a challenge for me that too in limited amount of time. Writing the code from scratch to uploading it has been very hard but at the same time very exciting, as I am learning how to create user interface and make it look attractive, from selecting the font style to the background image every single thing has been a challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud of taking part in this hackathon by doing this project and learning new things, exploring the ideas that came into my mind while coding. Completing this project in the given time limit is more that satisfactory. I am happy that I am able to do what I have been passionate for.
What we learned
I learned to be patient, do one thing at a time and be focused, be organized. I also learned and discovered how to play with the user interface and make it more attractive with the help of CSS
What's next for Space Explorers
In the next iteration I think of adding an AI chatbot to make the site more friendly and to clear the curiosity of space explorers by answering their questions . I even think of making some amazing quick quiz games with the help of C++ to make more attractive
