Our inspiration was the Mr. Trash wheel in Baltimore, Maryland.But when the theme of space was revealed, we made a version of it in space. We realized that space junk could be a huge problem so we decided to create this so it would not be a problem to the solar system.
It collects space junk that floats around in space and takes power from the sun. It works by the sensors on the claw detecting the space junk and keeping it in the space junk bag.
We built this trash collector by creating a 3 dimensional model and writing a strings of code to go with it.
The challenges that we faced were connecting to the internet and writing the code and making the model along with the code refusing to work.
We are proud of finishing the code and the model. We also are proud of being able to collaborate and work together.
We learned about each other and that if we work together then anything is possible. We also learned that C++ is the hardest code to learn.
It will be able to pick up bigger and larger items and it will pick up space junk farther away from earth. Also, we plan for it to be able to redirect asteroids so it doesn't make contact with the Earth or other planets.
