Inspiration
Space, Space is the boundless 3D area, and we are exploring it day by day. from the first foot on the moon to exploring mars. And maybe we can take an apartment on another planet in the future. But from the first launch of the first satellite, the space debris, the junk in the Space which is not functioning is still there. Because It is a non-functional object in Space, it can harm our new space missions or some operational satellites. So the thought of this project, to spread awareness about this issue. Maybe it is not affecting in person but maybe in the future. The inspiration for the project is one day, if possible, I want to live on the moon. And for that, we have to think about that junk.
What it does
Space Debris hunter starts with the world effect where some non-functional objects are placed in the real world with the feel of Space like floating objects. To destroy that thing, you have to tap on that object where you find that. It will add a point to your score. And last but not least, it gives you swag for saving the world.
How we built it
First, we researched space debris, how a non-functioning object looks, and how dangerous it can be. We built some assets in Blender with references of images on the internet and added it into the Spark AR studio to construct a space-like environment for the user. And finally, We added some features like object tap, face tracker, timer, score counter, etc. And in the end, Tested on the spark ar player app.
Challenges we ran into
In spark AR Studio, Finding a way to switch between 3D object and animation sequence take time to understand how to set up that.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I feel proud when I do something towards the community or spread awareness about the future.
What we learned
I learned that I still have a lot to learn. To get more attention from the users, you have to build an exciting thing. What makes them crazy about that. And I'm still on it.
What's next for Space Debris Hunter
In Space debris hunter, we add some functional objects with non-functioning objects. And differentiating between working and non-working objects grab more attention from users in the game.
