Inspiration
We found farms in our hometowns. We observed that they had to put the seeds on their own and they had to dig the soil and put the seed and put it back. Each seed takes more than a minute or so. Our idea will cut down the time to 10 seconds per seed.
What it does
The machine is having a main seed container that will contain all the seeds for the whole farm. There is a quadrant that has 4 compartments. One is empty with no base. The other three are filled with seeds. There is a tube that connects the quadrant to the pipe. The pipe has a cone in the front to make a depression in the soil. After we make the depression, we have made the cone part act as a flap that will open and then close. The seed will fall into the depression made and then it will be filled as it is a small hole.
How we built it
We used blender for the 3d model, online, and the framework. The circuitry and coding were done through Tinkercad.
Challenges we ran into
The Tinkercad project was crashing after 2-3 hours of usage. So we had to remake the circuit again and again. The code was very tough to write. It had taken too much time to just plan how it will be executed.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Done with the project Get a depression and the seed in the soil successfully. To be able to make the DC motors rotate as much as desired.
What we learned
We learned a lot of new syntaxes for Arduino. This helped in the rotation of the motors, rotation of the servo motors, etc. to be a lot easier.
What's next for SOVER
We will try to make the water pouring autonomous too by using SOWER.
