Inspiration

Although over one billion google document users are creating endless amounts of public content every day, there is no easy way to access these.

A lot of online communities are creating very good covid19 related documents using Google Docs and Sheets, in some cases better than what you can find in the news. You can find information about freelancing, parenting, remote work and many other topics.

Sourceful was created as a response to growth in both supply and demand for those documents.

What it does

After visiting the website, you can search by keyword or a category - e.g. look for Coronavirus datasets, job boards or fitness tips. After finding a document you like, you can upvote it so that other users can find it more easily.

If you have created a great online document and would like others to view and contribute to it, you can use Sourceful as your collaboration and distribution platform. This helps to share information between people and uncover the hidden knowledge from billions of Google document users.

Be sure to sign up for the weekly email with the top 3 documents!

How I built it

The platform has been built using Node.js and Vue.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Sourceful is live and lists a number of amazing Google documents about a variety of topics. There are early signs of a very good product/market fit - return visitors, low bounce rate, document upvotes, social media feedback. It is a great to see that the visitors are finding knowledge they otherwise would not have had access to.

What's next for Sourceful

Sourceful is on a mission to enable knowledge sharing and collaboration on an unprecedented scale, using online document suites. Features will are coming soon are: communication tools to give feedback to the owners of the documents, discussion boards, suggest an update system.

In the meantime, new documents are being added to the platform daily, so pop by to learn something new!
