Our hack addresses ‘Remixing our senses’ and ‘From bits to hits - The changing music industry.’

We are passionate about music and wanted to find a way to experience music in a tangible form. As furniture is all around us we thought it would be an incredible medium to integrate musical as tangible art in our lives. We are colliding music and interior design, for users to individualize their furniture in accordance with their favorite music. We use song specific-data to shape furniture design.

We built a platform that utilizes recorded music data from the Spotify API to generate 3D furniture design in Autodesk Fusion 360 to eventually be manufactured via 3D printing.

We prototyped the platform’s web user interface using Adobe XD.

Through our online web-based platform users purchase the custom made items. We created an initial product - a table with music-driven landscape underneath visible under the surface.

Global furniture market is worth $460 billion and is growing at over 4% a year, which constitutes a great market opportunity. On business model perspective, we use 3D printing that will allow low-cost production and short lead-times. To our knowledge there are no competitors offering custom-made, topic-driven furniture at affordable price.
