Inspiration

Sound Snuggles was born from a desire to bridge the gap between busy parents and their children, providing a way to maintain a strong emotional connection even when physically apart. We recognized the power of storytelling in fostering bonds and wanted to create a platform that made it easy for parents to share personalized bedtime stories with their little ones.

What it does

Sound Snuggles is a mobile app that allows users to listen to pre-recorded stories narrated by their own voices, cloned using Elevenlabs AI. The app is designed for busy parents who want to stay connected to their children through the power of storytelling. How we built it Sound Snuggles was developed using React Native, a popular framework for building cross-platform mobile apps. We leveraged Elevenlabs' API to implement the voice cloning functionality and designed a user-friendly interface that allows users to easily select and listen to stories.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges we faced was ensuring the quality and naturalness of the cloned voices. Fine-tuning the parameters and training data was crucial to achieving a satisfactory result. Additionally, integrating the voice cloning functionality seamlessly into the app's user experience required careful consideration and testing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are particularly proud of creating a platform that allows parents to easily share personalized stories with their children. Sound Snuggles offers a convenient and meaningful way to strengthen family bonds. We're also proud of finding time in this busy world to work on this side project that can potentially grow into a success business.

What we learned

Through the development of Sound Snuggles, we gained valuable experience in mobile app development, voice cloning technology, and user interface design. We learned the importance of iterative development, user testing, and continuous improvement.

What's next for Sound Snuggles

We have several exciting plans for Sound Snuggles. In the near future, we aim to:

  • Implement more flexible subscription options: We will introduce more granular subscription plans, allowing users to purchase individual stories or bundles.
