Soulinus

Inspiration

The idea for Soulinus was sparked by personal experiences. As expatriates, both founders grappled with questions about the fate of their assets after death—a concern many share but few address until it's too late. Determined to find a solution that marries integrity with security, we embarked on creating Soulinus, turning our concerns into a catalyst for innovation.

What it does

Soulinus uses blockchain technology to automate the execution of wills, ensuring that assets are transferred according to the deceased’s wishes, efficiently and transparently. This system eliminates the need for intermediaries, enhancing both the speed and reliability of legacy management.

How we built it

We built Soulinus by leveraging the Ethereum blockchain combined with Chainlink’s decentralized oracles and automation services. A key component of our system is the contract factory which allows for the dynamic creation of individual will contracts for each user. This ensures not only a personalized approach but also enhances security and efficiency in managing multiple contracts. Chainlink's automation is used to perform regular upkeep checks crucial for triggering the execution of these wills based on verified real-world events, such as the death of an individual.

Challenges we ran into

A significant challenge was implementing Chainlink’s automation for upkeep, primarily due to a lack of comprehensive documentation on its usage for our specific needs. This made it difficult to fully ascertain the functionality and reliability of the will execution trigger based on external events.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Despite the hurdles, we are proud to have integrated Chainlink oracles into our application, which marks a crucial step towards bridging the gap between real-world legal events and on-chain executions. We've created a foundational system that demonstrates the potential of decentralized solutions in handling sensitive applications like will execution.

This project deepened our understanding of blockchain technology, especially in the areas of smart contracts and decentralized oracles.

What's next for Soulinus

Looking ahead, we plan to deepen our use of Chainlink's oracles to boost our platform's capabilities. Our focus will also shift towards ramping up the security and privacy measures to ensure ironclad reliability. Expanding our services to include more intricate tools and broadening our reach across various jurisdictions remains a priority. Collaboration with legal and financial experts is essential to align our solutions with worldwide standards.
