- What specific problem does your solution address, and who is affected?
SoulSaver SOS addresses the problem of delayed emergency communication when a person is in danger, especially when internet connectivity is unavailable or unreliable. Existing SOS systems often depend on internet access to send alerts and location. Our solution helps individuals quickly send an emergency SOS, share their live location, and notify their primary emergency contacts and nearby people. It can benefit students, women, elderly people, travelers, and anyone who may face an emergency situation.
- How did you use Conduit@Empathy data in your solution?
We used the Conduit@Empathy data to understand people's emergency-related needs, concerns, and experiences. These insights helped us focus on fast SOS activation, location sharing, emergency contact alerts, and communication during situations where internet access may not be available. The data helped us design the solution with user safety, simplicity, and quick response as the main priorities.
- What impact could your solution create?
SoulSaver SOS could reduce the delay in getting help during emergencies by providing a quick and accessible SOS mechanism. It can improve emergency communication, help trusted contacts and nearby people respond faster, and provide the user's location for better assistance. The solution could make people feel safer and encourage faster community-based emergency response.
- What is the next step for your project after the hackathon?
After the hackathon, we plan to develop SoulSaver SOS into a fully functional application, improve its offline/SMS-based emergency communication, test it with real users, and improve the UI based on feedback. We also plan to strengthen location sharing, emergency contact management, notification features, and reliability so that the solution can be useful in real-world emergency situations.
