Soro-Shark

Inspiration

Discovering Soroban just a few days ago left me genuinely intrigued by its potential. The imminent launch on the mainnet emphasized the significance of this technology. It became evident that I had stumbled upon a tool that could address real-world challenges, particularly in the realm of securing funding for projects and startups, particularly in the Web3 space. I was driven to find a solution to a problem I, and many others, have faced.

What it does

Soro-Shark empowers users to tokenize their equity on the Stellar Network using Soroban. These tokens serve as a digital representation of ownership in a company, and their value is intrinsically linked to the company's overall valuation.

In today's market, a plethora of tokens and NFTs offer little to no real value, often being little more than gimmicks. Soro-Shark's mission is to transform tokens into a genuine reflection of ownership in tangible assets that can appreciate in the real world.

By embracing decentralization, Soro-Shark paves the way for globalization and democratization while bypassing the often cumbersome paperwork process. This ensures that security is never compromised.

How we built it

We leveraged the power of smart contracts developed in Rust using the Soroban SDK. Our reference materials were the Soroban official documentation and the Stellar GitHub repositories.

Challenges we ran into

As a newcomer to Web3 and a latecomer to the Soroban ecosystem, I faced substantial challenges. The tight timeframe presented a significant obstacle, with just a day or two to digest the entire documentation, grasp the technology, and develop a project from scratch.

What we learned

The journey through smart contract development has been enlightening. I must commend the straightforward and user-friendly nature of Soroban's documentation. This solo experience, marked by tight deadlines and a novel technology, has left an indelible mark on my learning journey.

What's next for Soro-Shark

Our work is far from over. Soro-Shark holds the potential to be a truly impactful solution to a pressing real-world problem. It has the capability to catalyze the funding of numerous startups once Soroban's mainnet is live. My future plans include delving deeper into Soroban and embarking on more projects to explore its full potential.
