Inspiration

I wanted to go along with the theme of space this year and I really like how much information is kept on music.

What it does

Songstellation creates a unique skyscape using Spotify's API to get track information to set specific values within your songstellation.

How I built it

I used Python and the spotipy and turtles packages to get information about a song and show it to the user.

Challenges I ran into

The Spotify API is very complicated. I wanted to make a front end but I spent so much time trying to understand the API that I only had time for a command-line interface.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I feel like the overall output looks very cool.

What I learned

How to use Spotify's API, as well as how to print a gradient using turtles

What's next for Songstellation

If I had more time I would definitely find a way to make a webpage where you could search by song and it would output a picture that the user could download.
