SongPushify
Purpose:
SongPushify is a music recognition iOS app with a cloud-based music social network; it is the fastest and easiest way of discovering the newest and best music tailored for you, and can recognize over 130 million songs with its built-in music recognition. Users have the ability to follow their own song clouds and receive notifications of new music posted by others to the clouds anytime and anywhere.
Technologies Used:
SongPushify uses the Parse API to store public and accessible information in the cloud and send targeted push notifications to multiple devices, and incorporates the Gracenote API to integrate music recognition technology. It also utilizes CoreData to store objects in memory and ensure their persistence and multithreading to maximize performance time and memory.
Future of Product:
SongPushify will have a significant impact in the way people share music. True, there are music recognition apps out there, including Shazam and Soundhound that allow sharing of music. However, none of them have a music-explicit social network, and rely on other social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter to share music. The fundamental problem behind this is that no one wants to view or search for music on these massive sites. SongPushify solves this problem by including a music-explicit social network with 'song clouds' that are tailored to specific music genres. Furthermore, it allows for easy sharing of new music on these 'song clouds' and allows users to follow clouds and receive notifications of new songs, posted and shared by others.
