Tinder and Spotify

What it does

Allows friends to swipe song suggestions right and left. The songs that were swiped right by all of your friends are added to a final playlist that includes the songs all of you like.

How we built it

Using HTML, Bootstrap, and Javascript.

Challenges we ran into

Figuring out how to store the data, learning the Spotify API, and creating one playlist from multiple sources. First, we started using Sketch and Swift to make an iOS app, an idea which was then scrapped. Then, we created an SQL database and also used Flask but then had to change our format to only use HTML, CSS and Javascript to create a functional project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of creating a minimum viable product in less than 12 hours. We are also proud of thinking of a novel idea using inspiration from popular apps.

What we learned

We learned the basics of the Spotify API. We also learned more about how to use Bootstrap. Most importantly, we learned how to work as a team and make decisions on a deadline.
