Inspiration
Head-tracking in headphones? Sounds like fun! Let's make an Augmented Reality game that challenges the user to find targets using echo location.
What it does
Targets appear in the Augmented Reality around the user. The user can view them through the window of their phone, and can hear them through simulated 3d sound tuned with the head-tracking in the headphones. Find the target and hit it.
How I built it
I'll be integrating the Harman SDK into a plugin for Unity to control the orientation of the audio receiver in the virtual game environment. A target flies slowly around the environment, making noises that the audio receiver can pick up. A phone or tablet is used to project the target onto augmented reality, using a combination of the phone's orientation sensors and the headphone's sensors.
