Our inspiration

Our Inspiration was based off students struggling to study due to procrastination. So we used the common 80% work and 20% studying strategy to create this desktop application. Students can choose meditate to improve their mental health and reduce the risk of stress or burn out. Or they can choose to play a brain stimulating game called the 'Flying Gator'.

Tap into your Unknown Productivity

Welcome to our project submission for the 2023 Swamp Hacks Hackathon. Our project is curated for students and is focused on reducing burnout, anxiety, and stress while increasing productivity.

Productivity is maximized by the 80/20 rule that we have implemented, in which users' breaks are equivalent to 20% of the time that they worked. This allows users to work till they naturally feel tired and then take a proportionate break.

The breaks are built into our application as well. During this proportionate break users can either choose to play the dinosaur chrome game with a gator spin (the gator game) or pratice mindfulness through mediation. At the end of their break, they can return back to their work cycle.

The following links have helped inspired this project: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oJMd6FWUB8&t=94s

How we built it: We built it using python, pycharm and pygame.

Challenges we ran into: We struggled with switching between screens, making sure the buttons work properly and the jumps in the game.

Accomplishments that we're proud of: We are proud we ended up with a product that visualizes our idea to help fellow students or anyone that would like to tap into their productivity.

What we learned: We learned how to communicate effectively about the tasks we are working on in order to help each other the best way we can and important organization skills.

What's next for Tap into Your Unknown Productivity: We plan to add more visual elements to the application such as stretches people can do during their break, a list of games that are linked, and a Lo-fi music playlist that's popular almost students when studying.
