When we started, we couldn't really think of a really good idea to work on, and the first thing that came to us was to build a website that finds us ideas , and we figured twitter is a nice place for people to post things that they want made.
What it does
Our application searches twitter for things that people wish were made, and generates a live feed of all of the things it finds on our website (someonemakethis.com).
Challenges we ran into
We had a lot of small bugs on our way up to the final solution, but the one major problem that we ran into was trying to get the website to live update based on a constantly evolving database. It didn't help that none of us had experience with Node.js and MongoDB.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we were able to get the feed of tweets to scroll across the screen, and being able to aggregate all of the twitter data in a database. We were also glad that we got pretty far without having any prior knowledge with Node.js, MongoDB, and Beautiful-Soup.
What we learned
We learned a lot about Web Development, Web Scraping, and MongoDB (noSQL) works.
