What inspired us
We were researching new App Store niches and stumbled onto Human Design.
It turned out several of our own friends had been into it for years – and had actually paid for Human Design readings. That was the signal that made us stop and look closer: people in our immediate circle were already spending money in this category.
The ASO tools backed it up. Traffic on Human Design keywords looked cheap.
Why we thought we could win
We went through the competition and found the incumbents were old – dated apps that nobody had really pushed forward in years. That felt like room for a product people would actually enjoy using.
So we collected feedback from the same friends who got us interested in the first place, and built Soma around it.
How we built it
Two of us. EJ handled development, I handled marketing – and we aimed at ASO and ASA traffic from day one, because that was what the original research pointed at.
The app is built with Expo and React Native. It's our main stack: it lets us ship quickly without giving up quality.
