Inspiration
We built this for younger solo travelers and backpackers going through Europe, specifically about safety and crime concerns, as well as nightlife.
What it does
It brings actual data by compiling reviews to understand the average safety of the nightlife and other points of interest in the metropolitan areas we studied.
How we built it
We used pandas and mathplot in Jupyter to scrape, clean, and analyze the data so that we can compile the project into what it is now.
Challenges we ran into
Our biggest challenge was how to analyze reviews on whether or not they rated the places we looked at as safe or dangerous.
What we learned
We learned how to scrape data more efficiently as well as how exactly to clean data that isn't the best formatted.
