SolMail

Inspiration

Passionnate NFT collector, I was unable to thank the creators or send an offer to a fellow collector. Sending messages in transactions was not efficient. So I went for a more visual solution by using the same method used by NFT art creator.

What it does

SolMail allows Solana users to write to each other using visual NFTs. The user write a text which is converted to an image, minted as an NFT which is sent to the specified recipient account address.

How I built it

Using react with the @solana/web3.js package, ipfs for storing the NFT metadata and Akash Network to provide a robust infrastructure.

Challenges I ran into

Finding a way to mint a NFT which is easily retreivable.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Developing this tool from scratch, code to deployment to the cloud.

Interacting with Solana blockchain. Converting text to image.
