Inspiration

As Soleluxe scales, it needs more than just a store—it needs a digital identity that resonates with the unapologetic self-expression of Gen-Z. We realized the original site felt like a static catalog, missing the "vibe" that young creators crave. Our inspiration was to transform the shopping journey into an Interactive playground, shifting the focus from passive browsing to active creation: Empowering self-expression with our Sneaker Charms..

What it does

We redesigned the Soleluxe ecosystem to be interaction-first:

  • Hyper-Interactive Lab: A high-fidelity DIY sandbox where users don't just see products; they "feel" textures. From fluffy Y2K mohair to delicate Coquette lace, every accessory is layered in real-time.
  • The Flex Feed: A "waterfall" gallery where users can "Steal the Look" from community creators, importing designs directly into their own Lab for instant modification.
  • Lock Your Look: A gamified sharing flow. One click generates a high-energy, personalized social media asset (Share Card) tailored for Instagram and TikTok.

How we built it

To deliver a high-performance startup redesign in under 10 hours, we integrated AI directly into our UI/UX workflow:

  • Adobe Express as an "Asset Micro-service":
    • Used AI Remove Background to create a clean, modular component library of shoes and charms in seconds.
    • Leveraged Text-to-Image to simulate tactile textures (fur, lace, silk) for our Lab demos, ensuring Soleluxe’s unique accessories looked tactile and high-end.
  • Neon-Logic Design System: Developed a modular system with a high-contrast palette (Primary Neon + Off-White) to ensure a cohesive, "app-like" experience across the web.

Challenges we ran into

  • Structural Integrity vs. AI: Early in our AI generation process, we struggled with "sneaker deformation"—the AI would often alter the iconic silhouette of the Air Force 1 while trying to add textures. We overcame this by discovering a "structural preservation" prompt technique (preventing deformation), which allowed us to keep the base shoe intact while layering complex materials.
  • The "Human-AI" Communication Gap: We initially relied on complex, AI-generated prompts from other models, but found they often over-complicated the results. We discovered that direct, natural language descriptions worked much better with the Adobe Express engine. Learning how to "speak" to the AI in a way that balanced technical precision with creative intent was a major turning point for our workflow.
  • Performance Optimization: The core challenge was balancing high interactivity with site performance. Gen-Z has zero tolerance for lag. We had to optimize our AI-generated assets into lightweight, web-ready PNGs using Adobe Express, ensuring the "Lace Swap" and "Charm Add" animations remained buttery smooth.
  • Logic & UI Debugging: During the rapid prototyping of the DIY Lab, we faced several "mismatch bugs" where accessory textures didn't sync correctly with the selected shoe models. It took rigorous troubleshooting and iterative testing to ensure that the user's choice in the sidebar was accurately reflected in the main viewport.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Startup Transformation: Successfully pivoting Soleluxe from a traditional shoe store to an "accessory experience."
  • Express Workflow: Demonstrating how a startup can maintain a professional-grade content engine (social posts, product photos, UI assets) without a massive creative team, thanks to Adobe Express AI.
  • Digital Craftsmanship: Creating a sense of "digital craftsmanship" that makes the user feel like a designer, not just a customer.

What we learned

  • Interactivity = Loyalty: For a startup like Soleluxe, the more time a user spends "playing" in the Lab, the stronger their emotional connection to the brand.
  • Prompt-based Prototyping: AI is the ultimate creative force multiplier, allowing us to skip hours of manual rendering and focus on the user journey.

What's next for Soleluxe: The Ultimate Sneaker Accessory Experience

  • Interactive AR Filters: Exporting "Locked Looks" directly into Snapchat and Instagram AR lenses so users can "wear" their designs virtually.
  • Community Drops: A voting system within the Flex Feed where the most "Liked" community DIYs become limited-edition physical kits sold on the site.
  • AI Stylist: An integrated chatbot that suggests accessory combinations based on the user's uploaded OOTD (Outfit of the Day).
