Inspiration
We were inspired by NASA's terrain monitoring system Earth Data Analysis System.
What it does
It provide a comprehensive web-based platform that offers real-time access to Aditya-L1's telemetry data and also predicts its future trajectory with precision.
How we built it
We built it using python web application frameworks and html/css/javascript for front end. We also used ISRO API for real time space related data.
Challenges we ran into
Predicting the future position of the satellite proved to be difficult to us because there were many fact external factors that had to be taken into consideration while calculating the next position of the satellite. Getting the real-time location of the satellite was also difficult.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Establishing a user interactive interface is something that we are extremely proud of along with the ability of our platform to create a community of space enthusiasts.
What we learned
Through this project we have improved our skills in python based web applications like django. And one of the key skills that we learned through the project was error detection and also debugging. Problem solving skill was also an addition to it.
What's next for SolarVoyage: Aditya-L1 Telemetry & Trajectory
For the future, we aim to further develop this project by adding new futures to it. After launching this platform successfully we also wish to add features for the upcoming satellites.
