Inspiration

A friend selling solar-panels , this is his first discovery phase, but manual - Go to the buyers location, check the roof, calulate the dimensions, and give a quote.

He asked for a replacement using software, i never had time, build-week is time to get this working for him

What it does

Takes the Zipcode, Using the google sattelite view, allow user to pick the roof, auto calculate the dimensions, map different solar panels to adjust the cost, and user can see when they get their investment back based on the electricity savings

How we built it

Mostly Codex / GPT 5.6 SOL did the heavy lifting, i was just organizing the architecture, design, UX.

Challenges we ran into

I want to run local and test local, but codex was keep jumping to ChatGPT sites, fails with network errors, and overthinking simple asks.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am sure this is a major product in UK/EU , and many players are in this area, but so far i checked, not many in japan is doing it. Going to Deploy this to product soon

What we learned

Well, with GPT 5.6, the hard part of boring calculations can be replaced by 8 hr intense sessions, then UX and marketing is all we need

What's next for SolarPro

WIll buy a domain, deploy to my servers, Start marketing the app in Software market. Before that, I solved my friends problem finally, so thats a win.
