Inspiration

As physics astronomy double majors, we wanted to visualize what we had learned in the classroom! Studying for midterms, drawing pictures helps us so much for really getting what exactly is happening in astronomy.

What it does

Right now, this is a basic simulation of the Earth's orbit around the Sun, and the Moon's orbit around the Earth! It was intended in order to give a good visualization of the phases of the moon, although we weren't able to get the shadows in Unity to work properly. A note: this is not to scale or using actual astronomical sizes or speeds, because the idea is to give a visual of the relative locations of the Earth, Sun, and Moon!
