Inspiration

The project was born from a shared fascination with fragile creatures and fragile emotions. SOKY has always been obsessed with jellyfish — their elegance, their danger, their quiet mystery. I wanted to translate that into a visual metaphor for her song Béton Pacotille: beauty drifting through an urban world that feels hard, grey, and overwhelming. The goal was to create a surreal, poetic space where nature interrupts the city and forces us to feel something again.

What it does

The video transforms a modern city into a dreamscape where giant jellyfish float between buildings like living lanterns. AI-generated images mix with real motion-design editing to create a hypnotic journey that amplifies the emotion of the music. It’s both a music video and a visual poem.

How we built it

I created dozens of AI-generated frames using MidJourney and Krea, experimenting with variations, lighting, and scale to build a coherent visual world. Each image was refined through prompt iteration, cleaned and stabilized, then upscaled with Topaz to reach cinematic definition. The final film was assembled in After Effects: color grading, motion design, compositing, and rhythmic editing to match Soky’s voice and the track’s structure.

Challenges we ran into

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was maintaining visual consistency across AI frames: scale variations, lighting mismatches, and unstable details. Another difficulty was finding the right balance between surrealism and credibility — the jellyfish had to feel magical but still integrated into the city. Finally, editing AI-generated stills into a fluid, musical sequence required extensive stabilization and timing work.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We managed to create a strong, cohesive visual world entirely from a hybrid workflow. The jellyfish metaphor became surprisingly powerful, giving the film both emotional weight and aesthetic identity. Most of all, the video feels like SOKY: sensitive, raw, poetic, and quietly rebellious.

What we learned

We learned how far AI can be pushed when it’s guided by a clear artistic intention. That prompt-crafting is an art form in itself. And that mixing AI with traditional editing creates new storytelling possibilities — especially for independent artists who want strong visuals without huge budgets.

What's next for Soky

She plans to continue exploring hybrid music videos that blend reality and imagination. This project opened a new visual direction for her universe — more organic, more symbolic, more cinematic. The next step is a live-action/AI fusion video where she appears on screen for the first time, in a world shaped by the same dreamlike energy.
